I have had that same unit for several years, no issues with it.

When I do that pork butt do I need to smoke it for so long then wrap it in foil, or just leave it till it's done? Any good rub recipes?

I don't wrap unless the wind and cold cause issues.

For a rub look up several and use one that has things you enjoy eating, there are also some good rubs available commercialy kinders, comes to mind but any grocery store and most sporting goods store sell them.

Here is a simple rub , id skip the ginger and cummin myself tho.rub with a thin coat of yellow mustad thinned with a little applle cider vinegar. Then coat really heavy with the rub.

Like the design on that one...I have a masterbuilt electric smoker too. Problem is where the control box is, theres a hole for the sensors that goes down into the smoker. Guess where some of the smoke and moisture come up? Right into the bottom of the control box creating issues. Luckily there was an easy fix, just pop the control box off the smoker so moisture from the smoke couldnt get into it.

How hot does yours get? mine can only go 275
