Hey all, I’m looking for your favorite DIY trapping projects. Whether that be baits, sets, stretchers, or more outside the box ideas. I like making things with my hands and I love saving money, let’s see what you’ve got!

Wooden drags. Most people use steel for their drags, I prefer wood.

Had a coon go up a tree ONCE with a dinky little coon grapple, ever since then I've had this weird obsession with building trap drags grin by far one of my favorite Trapping diy things to do. Each one is like a little pice of art cool piece of art that will make you throw you back out but art all the same laugh

Earth anchors for sure.

Waxed dirt

Coon bait

Pan screens

Rebar stakes

Skinning setup with electric hoist

Fleshing beam and stand

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

So what is everyone’s favorite ways to make dirt anchors? And what about the wooden drags? I’m a carpenter by trade so I’m always looking for things I can make from job site scrap!

If you can weld and have a little imagination the posibilities are endless. I make trap stakes, floats, drowner cables, weights, coni stands, snares,. All depends on the materials you have access to.

I staple/ nail trap chain to heavy pieces of firewood. I'm sure you could get fancy with it if you so desire.

Body grip stands. So simple to make. All you need is a welder, something to cut 1/4" rod and the rod itself. Does take a bit more rod than you think. Current design im making takes almost 5 foot of rod.

Making my own bait, not lure. 3 day tainted beaver, 2 day tainted cottontail and Paul's bait solution. Just like a fine wine, just gets better with age.

For me. Custom snares to fit my needs. There's something satisfying to building snares a certain way to perform certain ways. Especially killing consistently with no entanglement OR kill spring.

If it makes a track on this earth , I can catch it.
