Those will work well for you, especially on land.

For beavers, I use whatever I have handy. With 11, 14 or 16 gauge, I wrap it around a tree, stick, rebar snare pole, floating platform or whatever else I need to for that location.

With 9 gauge, I bend an upside down U into a piece of wire with an extra 16” or so and step it into the mud.

If I were building snare supports specifically for beavers, I’d build them the way my friend Don Hightower does. His support wire is welded to his rebar stake. Support and stake all in one. The reason I don’t currently do this often is because I usually use wolf fangs or cable off to something else. If I used rebar stakes for snares, I’d certainly use his setup and still might just for the ease of use.

I just bend a U in the bottom 6 inches of 3' of #9. Works fine here before frost.
After frost I drive rerod stake in a few inches and use a #9 V.
Simple. Doesn't swivel. No big deal carrying a dozen and about as cheap as you can get.
