The idea of mentioning of using the most available ammo in a fight when doomsday comes, what is your reasoning to take a 223/5.56 over a 9m or 40mm carbine?

.308 being first. Worked well during my days and still works well in the woods.

If doomsday comes and your short on whatever ammo you need only one person to blame. And I doubt there will b any shortage of 223/556.

I believe that my chances of surviving a 200yd+ fight is much greater than my chances in a 25yd fight. both have their place -- but then if you are referring to the 10" barrel ar pistols -- I don't see any benefit of the 223.

Way to much meat damage with them lung busting 9mm rounds. I'll stick with more tame ammo like the 30-06 , 223 and a 10.. as a sidearm. I don't have a 308 anymore but would not mind adding one to the stable if one shows up at my door ....... should have kept that 700 Remington in 308

Let's go Brandon

I figure if the defecation hits the cooling apparatus one day then 5.56 and 7.62 will readily be found on the dead, so that’s why I own several of each. If I go through all my ammo and still kicking then the end has to be close, lol. I have a very understanding wife that knows UPS stops by once a month delivering ammo. Never once has she complained.

pcc has its place but a full size ar-15 in 5.56 has more places ..

so a carbine is not a rifle even though it is as long as a rifle , you just don't get 2200 fps at bullet impact that seems to be the magic number that makes temporary stretch cavities permanent.

9 or 40 from a carbine still get stopped by a lot of things that are just concealment to a real rifle

feed and function are good but not as reliable with PCC blow back as they are with a gas driven system on a 5.56 AR

range is also huge
a 9mm is dropping at 100 yards while 5.56 is till on the way up getting a 200 yard hit with 9mm you have to hold over , getting a 200 yard hit with 5.56 you don't

pcc is really fun for play, games , good for training with less expensive ammo but have very limited actual use in life.

one place a PCC /SUB gun does have a use is entry teams running suppressed but 300 black out suppressed blurs that line also

if it is what you have run it but if you have other options the PCC has limited range , use , penetration it is really just a handgun you can better steady and control with 4 points of contact rather than 1 or 2
