so I've been thing about building a cabin out back on my land , I have most of the lumber [used] , and just figure out lumber for the wall , big boxes 2-2-32, I figure one box per wall, I;m thinking 16foot by 20, with a deck on two sides , do you guys think this is to big maybe 16-16 ? I;m going to heat it with wood , [Linked Image]

I don't think it is too big. My brother and myself bought a Woodland mills sawmill last year and have been building a 24x24 log cabin with my parents this year. We did the same thing with telephone pole posts.

Not too big.

A woodstove.even a smaller.one will warm it up nicely. You might even have.to open a window.to let some heat out once it gets crankin.

IF IDIOTS GREW ON TREES THIS PLACE WOULD BE AN ORCHARD !

My avatar pic is my little off grid, Trapping, hunting and fishing cabin. 12 x 16 has a mini kitchen with hand pump pot belly stove out of train caboose. The stove burns 8 inch wood or coal, I use both.

you're only allowed so many sunrises... I aim to see every one of them!

Roy, go with the 16x20. We have a 16x16 cabin at the lake, as situations change, wish it was just a bit bigger.
