What is so special about these pigs?

I’m in the market for some piglets to fatten up for butcher and I find these piglets on Craigslist for $250-$300 a piece

Niche, they stay smallish so hobby farmers want them or weirdos want them as pets.

Pets or one man processing. Guinea hogs are another small breed. Both are lard types and can put on excess fat if overfed.

Berkshire is pork waygu.

Berkshire is what I was hoping to find but haven’t had any luck yet. We like to fatten up a couple and then butcher them ourselves

Mangalitsa's are awesome, best pork I've had by far but they grow SLOW. Red Wattles are good. Any of the older breeds are pretty good, no need for a purebreds, if you find a Berkshire/Red Wattle etc it will be great.

If I was picking a pig for taste alone Red Wattle was the best tasting pig I ever had , got paid one time in a 1/2 pig for some wood cutting I did. it was delicious.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

People want $450.00 each, for just weaned, little Idaho Pasture Pig boars here and $550.00 each for just weaned gilts. I doubt many people are eating them at those prices. They're probably going to mostly go for breeding stock until the market is saturated and the prices crash, like they always do for the new hot breed of livestock.

Close, but Iberico is where it’s at. Better have it only the nights you need a get out of jail free card from the wife though. Berkshire is amazing though. Darn it warrior, now I’m salivating…. Lol
