Anybody do any leatherwork?

I used to do a bit when I was younger. Ive slowly been stocking up on supplies for the last year to have something else to do when I have free time.

Never got into 'tooling' leather goods, but have made a few knife sheaths and holsters, and a bunch of horse tack.

I've also made hand sewn buckskin dresses, pants, war shirts, and shooting bags.

Very satisfying work, when it comes out just the way you want.

some sheaths mostly , did a little tooling when at scout camps or that type of thing , but I am a lot more about function than looks

Got all the tools, lots patterns. My dad did a lot in 60s 70s I have done some and like to do more. But the prices on leather is to high for me.....

right on. Thinking to do some gun slings to start with.

Should have said 50s 60s for dad.i did belts and other stuff in the 70s.

Just got into it and am really enjoying it. Done some sheaths, basic totes and clutches.

I guess that depends on what you mean by leatherwork. I tan hides.

I've done a bunch. Lots of quivers, satchels, and purses for ladies in my life. Ill try to post a photo.
