Seems my log splitter has some bad seals/O rings. This thing is old, I believe it is from Northern Hydraulics years back. Can't see any info on it as to size and Tons but I have taken it apart.

Where is a good place to get some seals and rings locally. I have called around but doesn't seem to be many working on these things in these parts that I can find. I see kits for sale online but you need to know what you have obviously to get the correct parts ordered.

NAPA should carry a good variety of o rings.

We usually get parts from local hydraulic parts/repair place.
Take the cylinder to them or the parts we need and get everything to rebuild them.

I have to think a good hydaulics store near you can help you.Around here[eastern PA] it would be BDU ...Bearings and Drives Unlimited..or any place that replaces hydraulic hose-that makes them on site

If you have part numbers is big plus.
If not measure with calipers.

O ring kits at NAPA, sae and metric.

Search this, "log splitter rebuild arboristsite".

If you do find an easy trail, I'm all ears,
I think they all leak.

Talk to your local trash hauler and see who works on their truck hydraulics on the truck compactor cylinders.

Most of your larger tractor or farm implement stores/manufactures should have repair kits.

Old enough to know better, but dumb enough to still try.

This is where I get most all hyd/pneu o-rings,seals, wipers and other components.
You have to know what you're looking for tho.
Been using them for years .... bang up job.

Went through that years ago
was just cheaper to by a new ram and put it in= than a re-build
use a standard size used on farm equipment

sure hope you have some replacement hydraulic oil, hold onto you socks when you see the 100$ a 20 litre can

In my area (central Indiana) parts of any kind, especially older things are extremely challenging to get. I would call some hydraulic repair shops and take everything with you that you need and hopefully they can match it up.
