Ive been waiting for the sad news when they realize theyre losing money but every week they keep givin the bargain. I heard californians are flocking to mexico to make their money quadruple.

My brother and I bought FORTY of them in Wyoming on an antelope hunt. I walked up to the counter. " Can I help you?" Yes, I'd like 20 McDoubles. Any fries? No thank you. Drinks? No thanks, I like them dry. I step aside, my brother steps up to counter. " Can I help you?" I'll have what that guy's having, sounds good! LOL, we ate them for breakfast lunch and supper next couple days. Heated them on rental truck exhaust manifold. Last few were hard to swallow. Flew back to MD. Got off plane. We both hit the airport McDonalds. Each grabbed a couple McDoubles and a coke. Back.when the Dollar Menu cost a dollar!

O boy it made. % gain on leser currency. It still lost value due to inflation . YEA YEA ! prices are high same price last week before the dollar went up. So I'm wrong again. It hasn't increased in value? LOL. It's always been compared to other currency's .That's how they measure it's worth. So if the dollar was down 6 % below it's current value and prices remain high .It still sucks?

Worst first half of a year for the stock market in decades is being repoerted .
Worst ever start to the year for the Dow. Good only way things will get back to semi normal...Make believe money dries up . Prices come down...

High dollar is not good. Other countries de valuing their currency against the dollar gives them a huge trade advantage. Russian ruble is high also hurting russian trade. It means they are poorer.

Dang I just looked down 71.2 percent !!! is that right I knew I heard a crash last night , well really a thud the crash was back last month or so... But I swore not to talk finances with the money gurus on here. I'll just stick to panhandleing and I bonds. But did buy my granddaughters a cd at 3.25 for 18 months.

Steven is correct that if it weren't for the strong dollar, fuel prices would be much worse. It "always" happens that way. Dollar weakens and natural resource prices increase.
I just bought my granddaughters some Amazon shares. At least they are young enough to ride out the volatility.
Measuring in percentages is the only way to compare apples to apples. In some cases I agree. But it can also cloud the truth.

I'm guessing you are referring to percentages. There is that old saying that......"the more precise the statistic, the bigger the lie". Example.......99 & 44/100 percent pure........Ivory soap. But if you are trying to compare investment performance, percentage is all that matters. If you buy a stock at $5 and it goes to $10 that's a 100% increase but if you buy a $50 stock and it goes up to $55 it is only a 10% gain. The absolute dollar amounts are not comparable at all, even though they are the same. It's even more critical to understand it in percentage terms when prices decline. Here's a handy chart that shows how much gain is required in percent to get back to break even.
