Good box for wasps. To small and hot for bats.

board on board cottages are heavens for the bats...
they can go to where they want what temps
down low where the air comes in and cools them or up high where the heats rises

In all the houses I've lived in, bats had a terminal illness 100% of the time.
No exceptions.
People live in homes.
Any bats caught trespassing will. be. shot.

I still recall the countless hours I gave to striping and refurbishing the logs stained with the bat "P" on our log home in Nebraska from the bat houses the previous owner had placed up near the gable peak.
Most of the bats were given a fair trial and executed day 1.
Some were more stubborn and were known as escapees, but they fought the law and the....
LAW WON!

Blessings,
Mark

I have been in my attic in the summer and I am quiet sure not even a bat could survive long in the heat in it in the summer

We build our own construction bat houses. Most are for large colonies of bats. Bat condos are what we build for several hundred or more bats. Here are some photos of a state park we did for Tomlinson Run State park in W.V.

All bat houses need to be constructed according to the colony size at the moment and additional size considerations for birthing expansion for years to come.

That is if we are talking about a maternal colony in general. I believe these were 36" x 24" x 8". They were quite heavy to install.

Photo from the ground looking up into the baffle areas. Lots of guano to clean up below these large units.

These bat condos were built for colony expansion for many years to come.
