Kogels Since 1916 Koegel's natural casing Vienna dogs compete with the best hot dogs in the world. And they have a lot more than Hot Dogs Koegel is also a supplier of A&W, about 200 Coney restaurants, Walmart, Dairy Queen and Kroger. Distribution of its own products to each store gives Koegel an advantage of being able to give a shorter shelf life, at half its competitors, to ensure a fresh product.

I grew up in Niagara County and they called them white hots there. There was a hot dog stand called Reed's in Lockport and people came from all over the country to eat their white hots.[/quote]
Yep I'm down the road in Chautauqua county and we call em white hots. Zweigles white hots are my go too when I have a craving. They also make a 50/50 package white/regular dogs

Local outfit, John F. Martin and sons.
Haven't ate any nationally distributed meat for years. John F. Martin does have a good reputation. I guess I am going to have to try the hotdogs.

Johnsonville in Sheboygan County makes several different hot dogs in addition to their brats and sausage. There is an outlet store near us with many products that are not 2nds but product that is not in the stores. They make a very good hot dog and when we go we buy 5lbs. at a time. They are big hot dogs and have a very good flavor and texture.
Bryce is the outlet store in Johnsonville at the factory?

Funny, went to the link and they don’t list any kind of hot dogs.

For the Koegel’s lovers which do you prefer, Coney’s or Vienna’s ?
My preference is always a natural casing hot dog but if I have to go skinless(these are not available in southern Illinois) then I choose either Nathan’s or Ball Park beef dogs.
When it comes to summer sausage prefer Johnsonville’s garlic.
