Back in the 80s there was a company that sold something like that who advertise in a lot of the mags like Mother Earth news ect, they advertised it as a way to use abandoned railroad tracks to explore America

Used on the Railroad by track inspectors-called a velocipede.
Great for trapping when off duty-easy and quick to throw off the track in front of a train.

That might be me up front. I grew up about 6 miles south of Pellston. Seriously, if I would have seen this picture when I was a kid, I would have made one. Walked those same tracks many times.
