Tell me about it! I went to place a order for hexagonal steel for drivers yeah that’s a no go for now not unless people are going to pay 50$ for 2’ driver. I did manage to get a good deal on 40’ of 1”x1/2” flat for some drags but that will only make so many. So looks like until prices come down I won’t be building any stock up. Chain as well has went up greatly. You know it’s bad when even rebar prices are close to being double what they were 6 months ago.

I got a bid from a contractor for steel siding on my house last year. This year the cost is almost 50% higher. I've checked with a couple others who do siding. They all say the cost of materials has gone up considerably.

For sure. I was in Home Depot the other day talking to an employee about some OSB. Three years ago, was $7, now $30. I said you think it is ever going to get close to what it used to be? He said heck no - Home Depot raised their wages, truck driver wages higher, lumber mill higher. All the fuel costs from skidder to lumber hauler higher. Electricity cost higher. He said everything is higher and actual lumber price is a small part of it.
