what the deer do to your garden they do in the woods to lots of plants growing in the wild, differs in different areas.
In my area White Oaks, Basswood, Apple and several woodland/savanna forbs. They don't have a chance unless fenced.

Fact is there are too many deer.

Same in my area , if you do not fence your garden, deer and turkeys will destroy it.

Nice of you to fatten them up. They enjoyed my pumpkins last year.

Wild turkeys are rarely the cause of most damage intentionally.

https://www.aphis.usda.gov/wildlife...es/Wild-Turkeys-WDM-Technical-Series.pdf

Research has found that despite increases in turkey numbers and complaints, damage is often caused by other mammalian or bird species, not turkeys. In the instances where turkeys did cause damage, it was to specialty crops, vineyards, orchards, hay bales or silage pits during the winter. In cultured crops or gardens where wood chips, pine straw or other bedding materials (mulch) are placed around plants, wild turkeys sometimes scratch or dig up the material and damage plants when searching for food.

wow, never had deer go after cukes. I know what deer will go after varies from region to region. Even changes over the years.
I had a large Asparagus patch that the deer left alone for years then all of a sudden they discovered that asparagus tasted pretty good. After that I was lucky to get anything, they would mow it down to the ground every night..

Here’s a little nugget of “coincidence” for you. While they are snacking plenty in the garden they have left all the veggies we plan on canning alone. Even walking by beans and peas to get to the squash and cucumbers.

8ft fences are expensive, or I'd fence my property (26 acres) to keep the deer out.
It would be an interesting experiment

Electric fence might keep them out.

What you need out there is wolves to thin out those deer for you.

Please tell me of those complaining that you fill your tags and allow others to hunt your property during deer season???
