I think they found him fast because they have cameras all over in most cities. They had a description of him and his car pretty quick. The camera angle from the picture of his license plate came from a street lamp or a building in the above picture. He did leave his gun at the scene and I'm sure they ran the serial number on that too.

Once again here is a nut who posted all over social media the thoughts he has and not one person said a thing. I doubt he has many friends but someone should have seen it even if it was a family member and said something. His parents should've picked up on it unless he didn't act like a nut job freak around them.

I've thought, and said this all along as well.
"C'mon .... somebody step up and "Take one for the team" is a phrase that comes to mind.

If you have a black gun(s) on your wish list, I suggest you buy it now. And, take an inventory of all of your magazines over 10 rounds. If you don't have 10 magazines for a particular gun, buy some more. It's also a good idea to buy spare parts.

Writing checks, talking about conspiracy theories, fantasizing about a civil war, making very logical comparisons and arguments, pointing to the Constitution, etc. doesn't magically put the very guns people want to ban in your gun safe. Once you own them, it will be much harder to take them.

So a few years back whan all this started, the issue was "how do you find the needle in the haystack". Gonna have to dissect the brain matter of these guys to find out what makes them tick so you can go find them in the wild.

Turns out they are not a needle in the haystack.........once you know what to look for, they stand out like a neon light..........bright flashing lights with alarms and whistles going off all over the place.

So the question is...........when you find that guy........who up to that point......may not have done anything seriously wrong......other than fit the exact profile of a ticking time bomb. What do you do about him? There might be a few hundred of them......and only a handful actually cross the line........out of over 100M gun owners.

Well let's start where we all start, FAMILY. Did this thing have a dad who gave a crap? A mom that, well you know they are supposed to love. Siblings that looked out for each other and possibly held it accountable?

Without that nothing can be done short of authoritarian control of every individual.

JMO, but let's start penalizing failed families in some way. Families that turn out monsters get penalized until the message sinks in.

We used to do that. I know for a fact that there were families in my community that I grew up in that were shunned and unwelcome in polite company. There was a social standard that was upheld.

Society as a whole is failing. All by design.

I'd support that President--where is/was he or she? Regardless, it's my responsibility to arm myself and my family.

The Supreme Court should be a nice backstop but it will take years to undue any emotionally driven legislative or administrative action. For instance, it will be sometime before the Supreme Court rules on Trump's bump stock ban.

Years ago, I knew such a kid. Was one of two adopted kids.......dad was Lawyer.....mom a RE agent. Older brother was as good as they come.......we always said he might wind up President some day. Other kid......as bad as they come. We said he fit the profile of the Merle Haggard guy.......would turn 21 in prison doing life without parole. He was a worthless puke from day 1.

Puke never made it to prison. After numerous arrests for low level stuff........Dad kept getting him off...buying time hoping he would turn his life around.........puke shot and killed a cop during a routine traffic stop. Died later that day after a running gun battle with police.....using his last bullet on himself.

Anybody who was around that kid knew he was a cull. Should have been drowned at birth..........but wasn't. He lived to reek havoc and all except that cop lived to regret it. The world is a better place without him.

He did have a mom, dad and siblings. From what I read his dad was a respected businessman who ran for Mayor a few years ago and lost to a Leftist. However there were warning signs and he did not fit in at school. Apparently the school offered counseling for him, but his parents turned it down and pulled him out of school instead.

So who is accountable?

I worked as a school counselor for a number of years. Many times the teachers and counselors can spot potential problem cases. However, the parents can prevent intervention, and in many cases they do. The system also fails more than it succeeds.

They gonna re-write the constitution?
