Worst part about the show is the big government corruption taking over what isn't theirs- kinda irritating to watch given the current state of affairs. That I get to see in real life lol.
Other then that fairly entertaining and cleaner then alot of other shows I guess.

Typically these posts are riddled with sensitive folks that can't handle the profanity. Glad to see they have held off this long. lol

Do gotta say the internal political dealing with the county and the ranch is actually pretty close to stuff I've delt with coming from a cattle family

Before watching Yellowstone, the series 1883 is a prequel of 10 episodes that is supposed to be watched.

Any TV show can be picked apart by trappers with good eyes. I noticed the herd of wild feral cattle had some good looking herefords in it!

Nothing but a trashy soap box opera, filled with filthy language, sex, fights, and murder. I'm no prude, but this show goes way too far. I used to like Kevin Kostner, but no more.

Absolutely love the Yellowstone series and even more so after just coming back from a 10 day vacation in Montana. We flew into Bozeman, went west to Missoula, then south to small town of Stevensville, which is just north of Darby (where alot of filming for Yellowstone takes place). The country is breathtaking. Most beautiful place I have visited in the US without a doubt. Spent a couple days there, then headed north to Bigfork, which is on Flathead Lake. Spent the next 8 days hiking, whitewater rafting, going to Glacier NP and visiting Kalispell and Whitefish. Best trip of my life.

I told my wife I would pack my bags and move tomorrow if she wanted to.

I looked at houses while we were out there... GOOD GOSH properties are high!!!!!!

Glad you liked your visit , KSP . You covered some miles , but miles well spent. The northern parts , "my old stompin' grounds", as Teeter said about Texas, in the series grin

Yes, the west is a whole different world, as well as many ranchers and cowboys. Humor and speech, similar as veterans have, among each other. Something most civilians don't get , but that's ok. As is the series. I see a lot of similarity between vets and their comfort levels in communications to each other, and the western cowboy/ranch life here.

Now, you can relate a lot better to the history woven into the series. That's a good thing.

Have fun with the series , and glad you enjoyed your visit.

Im not sure how many miles we put on, over 2k for sure. Going to Sun road was closed, so we had to to drive about 3 hours to get to the east side of the park. It was well worth it, hiked to Grinnell Lake and Grinnell Glacier (although trail was closed at the end due to snow conditions). The house we stayed at in Stevensville (actually few miles outside of it) was on the market, about 3500 sq ft. with 52 acres... 4.5 million was asking price! Whitefish was an awesome town, made the trip to Big Mountain and took the chairlift to the top, plenty of snow still up there. Those mountain views though.....

Out here, miles are something the locals just do, unless one lives in town .

Yes it has been the perfect high snow winter, and cool wet spring and summer so far. As it needs to be. Lots of snow still in the high country. The Sun road is still being plowed open. Glad you still got to see a bit of the Park.

The Front, as locals call it, all down the Bitterroot , through Stevensville, are all full of western cowboy ranching history, with working ranches and outfitters to this day. The small cafe's that feed loggers and cowboys are well worth enjoying excellent food. The only detour along that route, I would recommend , would be jogging over the pass into Idaho and visiting Stanley. It is a very similar place and gorgeous.

Costner has his hands full in deciding what areas to film the Yellowstone series in .

Oh man !! No comparison in my opinion between The Stevensville area and the Stanley Basin.

The scenery around Stanley puts the rest of the world to shame ! .....Except for most of Alaska.

Oh I didn't mean Stvensville proper !

I was referring to the ranching that way...of course the areas of sheer beauty are special in MT and Stanley . Among the most beautiful in the world...like route 83 and some other places nearby smile

I agree about Stevensville...I think. That whole Bitteroot valley does not impress me at all.... too hot and dry. However, take highway 38 from Hamilton to Phillipsburg over Skalkaho Pass and it is pretty darn nice
