Wolfdog91 trapper Joined: Jul 2013 Posts: 11,854 Amite county Mississippi	That 1000rd probably was enough to constitute a free hazmat deal. 1009rd of ammo is more then likely more expensive then 1000 primers so that $30 hazmat can just be bundled in as a deal. AmmoRat trapper A Joined: Sep 2013 Posts: 66 Ashtabula Ohio	Has to do with the DOT rules for transporting of Hazard Class 1 explosives. Loaded ammunition and primed brass are classified as 1.4S or limited quantity with a proper shipping name of Small Arms - for shipping purposes on amounts less than 1000pnds. Over 1000 pounds and you'll pay the hazmat fee. Primers are a propagating explosive with a different Proper Shipping Name that cant be reclassified to limited quantities.
