Truck, not me. Was pressure washing some old rabbit cages to haul to auction, and figured I'd blow the mud off my truck. Got carried away. Looked so much better, borrowed my son's car washing bucket, used the foaming wheel and tire cleaners. Wiped the black trim with some sort of black trim stuff. Turtle wax chrome cleaner on bumpers. Came out pretty good. Has still never been waxed. I'm waiting for the paint to cure, lol. And with the price of new trucks.... Sad part is, it's worth twice as much if the fuel tank is full...

That's a sharp truck! Wish we lived closer, I'd buy those rabbit cages.
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

here an unwashed 17 year old truck would have holes you could stick your hand through over each wheel
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

here an unwashed 17 year old truck would have holes you could stick your hand through over each wheel Here too. How do you keep the rust away? Does the layer of grime add protection? don't know beats me this is my truck it had a fender flare covering the rust until there wasn't anything for the fender flare to hold onto any more although mine is 18 years old that one year makes all the difference I guess

I did the same thing with my Dodge. I swear I saw it flinch when I got the soap bucket filled. Mind you I am only doing it to sell it as folks don't seem to appreciate the 17 year patina on it. Go figure. I did not go overboard like you with the black stuff. But I did blow the straw out of the bed with a leaf blower, so I guess that counts for something. Bed was nasty. Had a Dana 44 bouncing around back there for awhile, so had burnt gear lube, dirt, and leaves. Did plug up some of the bigger holes though! Needs a degreasing. Or a layer of fresh dirt!

Looks good !
You need no excuses. I keep my truck clean all the time. Wax it with TR-3.
Feels clean and good driving down the road.
I took time to pinstripe my truck so it stays clean. Cleaned the interior few weeks ago. Even posted on here that I found my TMan name tag from 2009 NTA. And OLDER fuel and McDonalds receipts! Even some fries!

I don't wash my truck alot, but every summer I crawl underneath it and flush the frame out good.
Just something I've have done for years.
Get the road salt and big mud washed away.
Let me sugar coat this

My wife bought a D21 Nissan pickup in late 1986. Drove it until early- mid 2000s, then it sat between our manure pile and hog pen. For YEARS. Pulled it out and Chevytized it a while back. It's got some of that Oh So Desirable PATINA, but no real rust. Only broke ONE bolt off pulling drivetrain, exhaust, tank, etc. Has NEVER even been hosed off!
