Need a nuke button for them. They have a gift of calling at the most inconvenient time. Anymore just let all calls go to voice mail unless know them.

Some individuals use statistics as a drunk man uses lamp-posts — for support rather than for illumination.

I do the same thing. If they don’t leave a message I’m not bothering myself

If its an 800 service, spam or a name I don't know--or one of my sister in laws,I let it go to voice mail.

Sometimes it's fun to ask them about the weather if you are extremely bored.

I let them all got to voice mail. Was told by guy I know used to work at phone company. If you pick up them calls. Then they know its an active number and trade it with other telemarketers. I know if it's a robo call if you pick up but don't say anything. Call will listen then hang up. They may even have some way of knowing if it's your voice mail. I've had short messages with no voice in the message?
If I could nuke some of them callers I would. In past I have messed with some if I'm in a mood and they call more than once. I do believe I get less now that I screen everything.

if Im in the mood for some fun I listen to their speech, then tell them as soon as I get back to work...*click*.
We used to do this at the time share seminars, back in the day they'd offer you a free buffet if you listened to the time share speal, then they'd come around and sit you down for the sell, my wife and I took turns claiming to be the one out of work.
They's escort out asap, to move onto the next potential buyer.

Don't get but maybe two a week anymore. Never have answered the phone much unless I know the number. That's what the answering machine or voicemail is for.

I do that all the time, even when I call an 800 number! LOL
I used to keep a sports horn by my land line and I'd give those slimeballs a good shot. I've had them so whizzed they'd call me AGAIN to rant, and I just gave them a 2nd dose. LOL

Medicare Rewards is the worst. If you enter a Bass master ATV or hunting sweepstakes and you are assured to get a lifetime of telemarketer calls. If the entry form asks your age, enter a very young age. They love to call us old folks.

It hasn’t disappeared here. If you hang up and call the number back immediately, most of the time they say the number has been disconnected.

I don’t get that many telemarketer calls, less than 1 a week, but I always answer the phone regardless of the number because some times the call is from some one I know but isn’t in my caller ID list.

The calls I like are the ones that are a recording. They introduce themselves and ask a question like ‘you do have car insurance” and I say “no”. They continue with another question, again I saw “no”. I like to see how many “no”s it takes before the system hangs up on me. The record so far is 6.

Another call that's fun is when it is a real person and I answer their question in a foreign language. Any language, just a simple phrase like “Bon Jour”. They keep trying for awhile and every time I answer in a different language.

In a way, it is a form of entertainment. LOL

I've posted this before , probably unpopular. But it works.

I change my phone number about every 2 years. I get on average about 1 spam call every two months. It goes straight to voicemail and is deleted. Royal PIA , but it works. Doesn't work well for established business lines and other phone set-ups , but for personal use it is applicable.

Don't call lists - do not work.

I used to answer the phone when they called as so, "New York Dept of Telemarketer Fraud Hotline. How may I help you?"

They always hung up.

Now my phone tells me it is spam and I ignore it. If it is legit, they will leave a message.
