Should have let the parents go in ! Think the outcome wouldn’t have been as bad !

L.E. wont even arrest gas station gas drive off thieves. They don't investigate home burglary's, (they will make a report for your insurance company) They will however write a ticket for no seatbelt or no permit for a yard sale. They will throw a broke old man out of his home for non payment of property tax. Criminals get free reign though so its all good.

My brother in law had his pickup stolen out of his driveway Sunday night in Aurora CO. (Denver) Cops told him it was probably on its way to Mexico. Sure seems odd to me they know where its going, pretty good idea who stole it, but he hasn't got it back and nobody is arrested....

Wow. Makes me sick. Those cops shouldn't just be fired, they should be charged.

If your afraid to get shot or killed you should NOT BE A POLICE OFFICER.

Everyone that is sane is afraid to get shot or killed. Cops should have the courage to engage anyway

Just sickening for the children in that classroom and their families. Cops wouldn't save the children and wouldn't let the parents try to help their children.

We can write all the new laws we want .If we do nothing about criminals we are saying that breaking the law is really not going to result in punishment . I would not want to be a police officer .But if you chose that responsibility you agree to abide by the law and enforce the law .I
am at a loss as to how that many officers stood by and allowed the shooter to continue .I don't have an answer but the trained and equipped failed to protect those that where killed .And that is why the average citizen should be allowed to own a gun

Priority should be given to military veterans when filling law enforcement positions. I think the response would have been different if some of these guys were Marines.

From a veteran LE officer's viewpoint: that was BAD! Their inaction to go directly to the shooter is in conflict with the active shooter training that everyone of them (most likely) has had.

That is too too bad! I wonder how many lives could have been saved if medical could have got in sooner. I’m guessing a lot.

Pitiful

I understand the need to make a banzai attack in this situation and the critical need for immediate action. But I also understand the need to have a plan of attack that has some possibility of a positive outcome. This is definitely a situation worth sacrificing your life in. But it makes no sense to run into a hail of bullets with zero hope of improving the situation in any way.

Are there building codes that require at least two means of egress for all classrooms? I would think so. Just going through the doorway seems like guaranteed failure. But if that could be combined with a coordinated attack through a window on the opposing side of the room, there would be some possibility of success.

Was tear gas, smoke, or a flash-bang available anywhere? How about a battering ram to break a hole in the block wall? Could the room be accessed by the ceiling via an adjoining classroom?

How would you attack a man armed with a rifle inside a room with only one doorway and an outward swinging door?

If the door is shut shooter lies on the floor. Door opener stands to the side and throws it open. As soon as the guy on the floor shoots he steps into the doorway and shoots

Losing their jobs and any benefits should only be the beginning for these guys.
