Looks like fun! I need to take my kids out giggin. I haven’t gone since I was in high school, and I don’t know why. It’s a lot of fun

I have a couple of grandsons that absolutely love frog giggin. We try and go 4-5 times a year. Seems tough to find a good pond with frogs than it used to be I think the blue herons are getting all the big frogs. It's hard to find frogs large enough to make Gigan worthwhile around here. That said tonight might be a good night to go see if I can take the kids

Pro tip and conservation minute-if you bare hand them, you can put the smaller ones back Lol I'm not that fast and agile. My 12 year old likes to catch them on a fishing line. I use a 5 prong fine wire gig or shoot them.

My brother and cousins and me would go to the ponds behinour grandparents when wre kids and catch/shoot leopard frogs. Grandma would cut the legs off and we'd have a feast. I have a pic somewhere of me with my shirt tucked in and there were 140 frogs inside.
swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

I used a gig like this for years, still have it somewhere. Worked great and no puncture to the skin. Mounted it on a long hickory pole. That's interesting
