I just read the State of Oklahoma is named from the Choctaw Indian words “red people.” I wonder how long it will be before the woke people will want to change it. I also wonder how many other states are derived from words that woke people despise like the State of Washington named after George Washington.

In 2016 Omaha Nebraska leaders voted to change Dodge streets name sake to a different guy named Dodge. The first Dodge apparently supported some merger legislation that had a provision that settlers could decide or vote on slavery, as I recall it. So they picked a union general named Dodge to be sure for the second go around, and didn’t even have to change the signs! Lmao Can’t make this stuff up!

Dodge City, Kansas was named after Grenville Dodge who was a big deal railroad builder/engineer who was involved in building the Transcontinental RR.

I wish my kids could have grown up in the Oklahoma I grew up in. Every year we would have land run day in April. Half of the class would dress up like settlers. Half of the class would dress up like Indians. The teachers would put the Indians on the playground and the settlers would have a land run and stake their claims on the playground. The settlers would then build communities and feed the Indians.

They got the Bingo Halls and Casinos. We keep the name.

In all seriousness and from a guy descended from land run families on both sides, the Indians got a raw deal but this crap has to stop somewhere.
