If you and your wife are both feeling crappy at the same time and she tests posi for 'vid, just assume you are as well. That's what I did end of Dec. Both wife and 86 yr MiL tested posi, all of us feeling ill at the same time so I didn't test. Why have my own data used against me somewhere in the future??. Took some of the "unapproved" cocktail, was sick like the flu for about a week (still worked remotely) and it was done. Both wife and MiL got infused because Sniffy was still allowing monoclonal antibody treatments at that time but both of them have more comorbidities than me.
I took the MiL into ER on New years Day (a Saturday) because she was still feeling pretty bad, she had gotten infused on Friday--nice how they treated an old lady, posi test on Tues but couldn't infuse her until Friday. I stayed masked up and in the corner the whole time. Guess what, the sick 86 year old lady was dehydrated! They ran a iv liter of drink into her and that was it. She started feeling better the next day.
I worked 12 years in a hospital as a pharmacy tech. They hadn't gone super nova until late in my time there, expanding like crazy from the late '90s on, their "cartel" was just getting going. Never, ever again would I work at that place or the somewhat "nicer" health care cartel across town...
"And God said, Let us make man in our image and let them have dominion and all the creatures that move along the ground". Genesis 1:26

We have plans for Friday thru Sunday and will be in close contact with people that really shouldn’t get covid so it’s just a piece of mind thing. So if your only sick, you're OK giving them a cold just as long as it's not covid?

I took two of the home test last Tuesday and Wednesday, both negative. By Thursday I was feeling real sick. Went to Walgreens and Friday and tested positive.
I don't have much stock in the home tests. Probably didn't have it Tuesday or Wednesday if you didn't feel sick.

My son had to take time off due to his daughter having Covid. The night before he could return to work he took a test, tested negative. That next morning he woke up and didn’t feel the best but went on in to work. They tested him and he went on to start checking traps. Said he hadn’t been gone 5 minutes and they called him and told him he was positive. So I guess when you start feeling sick is the time to test.

I don't have much stock in the home tests. Theres a window where you'll test positive...and a timeframe on both ends of that window where you'll test negative...no matter the test. My Girlfriend works at Mayo. The employees use the home test. Granted they are free in a vending machine at Mayo but they are home tests. There were accurate for everyone I, and she, knows that got covid. Myself included. After 10 days you'll test negative, most times. I did.

OK, you test positive , now what? Did you get special drugs, special treatment? No? so why test? According to the ages of some of the folks on here, I’d think the home test would be used to go on in to then Doc and get meds. My Dad and Mom just got Covid for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Dad, 85, first. Mom, 77, two days later. Both went to the Doc as they were really starting to feel sick and both got Hydroxychloriquine and steroids and were feeling much better in 24-36hrs. I guess if you enjoy being sick, then stay at home and isolate. My parents aren’t much for sitting around sleeping all day and took meds to fell better much sooner.
