Testing Him?

I tried testing my dad more than a few times never worked in my favor. Didn't Satan try to get Jesus to jump from a high place and Jesus responded that we are not to test the Father? Maybe I'm missing the point of the question. By faith alone. The world will test u and when God carries you through your faith is strengthened.

A little context would be nice. Do you mean like putting out a fleece kind of testing or testing to see how much we can do before he gets mad or what?

The fleece thing was allowed.

Tithing to test the Lord is a slippery slope. If u tithe for the hope of gain your heart is in the wrong place. If tithe out of love, caring and obedience u will be blessed it's more of a promise than aa call to test him. Tithing is about the condition of your heart and your faith.

Mal. 3:10 refers to testing God out in the sense of putting faith in Him and doing what He asks us to do. If we make personal sacrifices for God, he will open the floodgates of blessings in return.

10 Bring the whole tithe(A) into the storehouse,(B) that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates(C) of heaven and pour out(D) so much blessing(E) that there will not be room enough to store it.

Sometimes testing tells us more about the tester than the testee. If I test someone, it might seem I don't trust that person. And in some cases that would be true, but much less likely with a trusted friend.

Not saying ur wrong but 2 things I'd suggest.
1 look up the original word in Hebrews the the word test is replacing and the original words meaning
2 look at the big picture of testing God throught scripture

My limited experience is as a whole we are not to "test" God but walk in faith and submission. Now maybe there are certain situations God has called is people to test for there particular situation or for the revealing of himself to others but generally I believe we are to action by faith.

Wasn’t suppose to be an argument but then someone posted scripture stating we aren’t to test God. Then I posted scripture that states where He asks us to. Then someone posted those words don’t mean what they say they do. lol

No need to become a theologian, I/we did as written and He kept His promise. Not exactly how we thought He would but He did.

Maybe both points are valid depending on a particular situation.
