Ford , Chevy , Dodge all buy parts from China They also have more car factories ( big 3 ) outside the USA than domestic ones. Google it. Sadly the American car companies have joined the global market. They have to compete or die. Truth. This has been going on for , many , many years. Google the percentage of the car you now own as USA made components. You will be shocked.

I worked for the Eaton Corp. the last 30 years before Retirment. Eaton had/has production plants in China and India. They produce auto and truck parts. I know for they are using forge die lube systems I designed after the engineers failed producing one. Roy

I thought America was no longer having trade deals to any degree with China but read in the finance section where Ford is buying there batteries at this point in time for their electric vehicles from China while at the same time laying people off. My reason for asking is I own Ford stock but will more than likely sell if this turns out to be true? Thank you for any comments . Would you sell or am I over reacting. The root of the problem is that the federal government is now dictating how many electric vehicles companies must produce. Ford ( and probably all other auto companies) actually lose money on every EV they build. The ICE vehicles they build are profitable and absorb the losses from the EV production. So Ford is laying off 8000 workers from the ICE side to reduce their costs and boost profit so they can cover the cost of producing more EV's. Doesn't sound like a long-term profit producer to me. BTW, Ford stock is trading at the same level it was in 1997. If I owned F, I'd be considering an alternate investment. ARTICLE

A topic discussed early in the development of this country is Laissez-Faire. That is where the government keeps out of free-market capitalism. Thomas Jefferson was probably the most outspoken supporter of this topic among the founding fathers.

Don't remember all those cars and trucks that couldn't run because of the chip shortage from China?
