Best boat sale ever. If you can afford gas to use one!

Seems to me there is a lot of agriculture and cities in places that are just naturally too dry for that. Might just have to un-populate.

Nope. They won't let you near it with one.

Makes me wonder who is hiding what.

Sounds like people need to stop watering lawns, decorative fountains, and wasteful water use or face extremely uncomfortable conditions in the future due to the rate of water level drop without replenishing trends in the forecast.

One might hope that it doesn’t continue on a downward trend to the point of looking like the Grand Canyon. Since climate experiences extreme cycles such as entering and leaving ice ages, one may think it’s possible that it could potentially reach the point of not being able to supply water and electricity for millions in the future. That would be bad.

Vegas has already started stealing/acquiring water rights from up here in my area. I’ve heard there are plans to build a pipeline to carry our water to them. Obviously it’s gonna hurt a lot of farmers and rural areas but it’s Vegas, so they get what they want.

How about having a little more conservative usage down the line. Its not like the mountains are going to not have snow.

The other problem is the amount of electricity that’s produced there, without the water a hydro powered turbine can’t produce electricity.

Lake Mead WILL run dry, no doubt.
They'll make laws to steal anyone's water they can.
When that runs dry they'll run like rats from a burning building and invade where you live
Be prepared

De salination plants on the coast for drinking water and Nuclear for power.
Other countries do it.
And give all the new mexicans crossing the border a shovel and tell them to start digging a big trench to divert the rio grand on their way to the promised land of California.

Gaint farm corporations growing crops in desert areas and overpopulation, who could have seen this coming?? I read somewhere that a single almond requires 1 gallon of water to reach maturity. I like almonds, but what a waste. They better figure things out soon, or decisions will be made for them! Oh, and BTW, they can keep their overpopulation problem there, I and most northern plains folks don’t want their issues here.

Actually, the truth is that Vegas uses less water per day from Lake Mead than evaporates by natural processes. The major use and draw on Lake Mead is (1) hydroelectric power through the dam, and (2) downstream agriculture. Downstream ag has priority (legally) over all other uses. Believe it or not, Vegas is pretty efficient in terms of water usage. The only water that we don't put back in the lake is irrigation water that runs into the ground (and even some of that makes it back into the lake by way of the Las Vegas Wash). Other than that, everything else goes back into the lake. If you doubt any of that, do your own research, but my best evidence is Lake Mohave, which is directly below Lake Mead. It hardly ever fluctuates in water level. The reason is it doesn't have to generate power. If Vegas wanted to rob water, it would just put a spickett in Lake Mohave and have lots of water.
But, ya'll carry on.

Steve Martin said this years ago as a funny thing in his comedy skit.

Not an exact quote , but it went something like this :

" California is like a brain dead hospital patient. You turn off the water in California and everything dies. Kinda like being on life support. "

Lot of truth in those words.
