"Chisel-tooth" saw file. It takes more skill to file a saw properly with one, but imo it is a superior type of sharpening, especially when combined with a "skip tooth" chain.
I use a double bevel Pferd file for my square file chains. Doesn’t get into the river or drive link. For falling or cutting clean wood nothing beats and proper square grind/file. For dirty wood I stick with round.
I use round files, have cut thousands of cords of wood I use what works for me. I hate full skip chains, too dangerous for making plunge cut during my method of felling large trees.

I have only tried the tri angle files so far I should try the double bevel and see how those work
Cool. I laughed when I read the first post….never heard of it, gonna order a file and try it on one of my chains. There was a show on discovery or history with him in it, pretty funny guy too.
I use a cheapo Harbor Freight sharpener. Does what I need it to, plus it all depends on the chain you use. Semi, or round chisel wouldn't work so good with a squared file. I like the looks of that tooth though!

I chisel bit filed my chains for years until I bought a cheap grinder. Now I buy chisel bit chains but round grind them. Holds up better for cutting dirty wood. If I was falling timber for a living I would own a Siva grinder to 'square' or chisel bit grind them. But for what I do the cheap Harbor Freight grinder works. I could chisel bit file a chain to cut sharp and straight a lot easier than round filing.
For those that want to try it, you should by a chisel bit chain, the teeth are different than on a round chain. Even for round filing or grinding I prefer a chisel bit, skip tooth chain. Full comp is alright if you have a saw with lots of power and aren't cutting real big wood. It runs smoother, but skip tooth cleans out better and doesn't bog down if you sink the dogs to big wood, especially if your saw isn't hot. Generally skip tooth will cut faster in most circumstances and if you are hand filing you only have to file half as much. Now I have run a lot of full comp on a hopped up 66 and really liked it. Smooth running and the saw had the power to never noticed the extra drag.
It's called " Goofy Filing " and with the proper chain it's great with clean wood as for files I'm sure Bailey's have them or any other quality pro saw shop .
