It’s just coming on here in western Pa, but prices seem really high. There’s a farm that has a couple self service wagons spread over two counties….Butter and Sugar 14 ears for $10. Another place was selling 13 ears for $8 . Mine will be ready next week, ( Bodacious ), was gonna sell 5 dozen for $25.

In the middle of the state, corn is much cheaper, Mennonites and Amish sold last season for as low as $1.75 a dozen. I’m going to the Lewisburg Farm Market on Wednesday, see what it’s going for there.

Most is $5 per dozen or 50 cents per ear. The farmers markets with organic are about $2per dozen more. I picked the first 7 dozen ears Saturday and today. Most good ears in batch one are gone. The 2nd batch is a couple of weeks off and the last batch has the tassel in the whorl so timing is good.

I've been poking around here lately. I'm seeing $9/doz pretty regular. I might get arrested in someone's sweet corn patch at these prices. I guess I'll wait til the frenzy is over and prices come down a bit before I spring for my freezer supply. I sure miss the good folks and hospitality of Nebraska at times like this.

Just bought a half dozen today for the wife and I. .70 an ear - 8.00 a dozen. It was very tasty - a bicolor corn. I think it was 6.00 a dozen last year.

Mine should be about ready to start picking after I get back from our state convention next week end.

Local stands $7 or $8 for 13 ears. BIL grows and sells but free to us but I give them free eggs.

$6 is what I've been paying, it's not ready at home yet.

I got my corn harvested and processed and rand the bush hog and disk through those rows yesterday to chop up the stalks. Next I'll chisel plow and disk it again before planting radishes for the deer as a water cover crop.

At the local produce auctions, sweets corn is averaging $24.00 for 10 dozen ears, so $2.40 a dozen. It should go down quite a bit soon. I'll freeze 10 dozen ears.
