Went for the weekend in the islands out from the Key river on Georgian Bay...Only got out to fish for about 6 hrs total, so it was a good thing they were biting. Hooked into a giant musky this morning, but lost it..

Very nice fish as always! Weather looks nice too.

A couple of my buddies were musky fishing in the Georgian Bay 2 weeks ago. Largest musky they got was 55".

Looks like a great no nonsense setup.

I'm not sure what part they were in but I would assume somewhere by the French. They got bit by the musky fever a few years ago and now thats all they do.

It is exactly what I want it to be. Small at 17 1/2' long, but tough as heck. All 3/16" plate aluminum. The middle seat comes out and and a lift of plywood fits in it. It van float 1800 lbs. A few changes from these pics. It has a 24v minn kota and a new 70 hp yamaha this year. Caught tens of thousands of fish and brought home lots of meat and fur. Top speed now is 38 mph with the new 70. Already have 135 hrs on the motor since this spring. 12000 lumens of light up front, front and rear 9" garmins, shallow water manual anchor, 24 gallon livewell and red lights for night fishing.

I will never sell it

Very well thought out. Out of curiosity, who makes the hull ? One last question, running big water like you do, do you ever feel the need for a "kicker" should your primary OB have trouble ?

I limit my big water running to about 3 foot waves. The hull was made by a local fabricator, Kemp boats. But it is similar to the more well known stanley boats out of parry sound. The low freeboard makes it easy to fish and trap out of, but it isn't as safe in much bigger waves...I can go a long way with the 24v trolling motor, plus a kicker would be just too much weight at the back. It was designed to be a small boat that occasionally can do big things. Musky fishing with two is about perfect. Three people gets tight unless trolling. It's perfect for amongst the semi sheltered islands here on the bay. If I was just running the wide open bay, I would have a different boat

I actually have a 23 grady white cuddy for the big water.

Great adventure Hutchy!
I have always liked the 4wd type utility boats.
Mine is a Crestliner 18’ Sportsman tiller.
Light, fast, versatile, but can be a little short on comfort.
