Nice deer! Chasing mature bucks also gets me excited. Just did put a couple cameras out Monday, I’ll check them this weekend. Seeing a few nice ones in bean fields, got one in particular I’m looking forward to. Good luck keep us posted

Saw this deer in 2019 and liked him. Saw him again in 2020 and he had grown and knew 2021 was going to be his year. It turned out to be his year and not mine. I had it made up in my mind to kill him with a bow and it cost me. Hoping 2022 is the year it gets done. Found one side of his shed and it scored 74” so hoping he grows a little more. We “think” he’ll be either 5 or 6 this year.

Bucks just started coming out and being visible yesterday.
Always this time of year and mostly in bean fields.

Nothing yet that has got me super excited.

Not a fan of the "antler people". I believe they have ruined things for most of us. I don't watch hunting shows as most are idiots who have destroyed rural hunting for us meat on the table folk by creating leases. It's now a rich mans game. However if your hunting your own property, it tickles me that you target one and get after it. Best wishes!

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Rm, from the sounds of it you have a great property arrangement to get it done. The size and location of your only 2 stands and food relation to cover is the recipe to hold bucks all season. If you keep the food plots as secure as the bedding cover. Im envious of set ups like that. Neither ofy places are large enough to have it all. Rely on neighboring lands to hold bucks during the daylight and i try to keep them close enough to catch the limited shooting light movement.

My son killed a 171” last year on this same property, so the potential is here. All they need is some age. We are allowed 10 does here, so fill the freezers isn’t an issue, lol. Just keeping the numbers down is hard enough.

Yea Claypool we are fortunate that the neighbor allows us to access the property from the east so it makes it much easier to get in and out without bumping anything. Wannabe that's incredible bucks for Georgia

I'll be 76 this season. Always want to be ready. Rifles sighted in and work with stands complete. In the last 50 years, it hasn't happened once. Usually lanes are mowed.

Meat hunter = another term for a deer hunter that just can't seem to ever kill a big buck....lol

Hope you get him RM trapper. He is a good un.

Hunting a mature whitetail buck (with a bow) is my most favorite hobby!!!

Yes sir those are some dandies hopefully you can get a crack at one of them
Snyde901 I'm thinking 170s, his sheds measured 159" last year with a 18" spread credit and he added 4 pts this year
Swampwolf chasing mature bucks is definitely my favorite hobby too, I'll agree with the meat hunters that it's harder to get private property to hunt but everywhere I hunt there's still tons of opportunities to fill the freezer without paying a dime
