This is the first issue that's left me on the side of the road that I couldn't come up with a fix for; granted I didn't have much time or daylight to tinker around with it last night. Thanks for the thoughts and suggestions everyone! I'll try a couple of the quicker things maybe this evening, like tapping the tank with a rubber mallet and testing plugs, maybe try a shot of ether with lubricity in the air cleaner. I'll report back what I find out!

If you left your vehicle here along the road for the night you would have the gas stolen by a hole drilled in the gas tank and the catalytic converter removed!

Check the fuel pump fuse and wiring before pulling the pump. 7-8 yr old pump, rebuild or new? Quality of replacement parts can be crap these days, Made in China?

I'll maybe have time to look at fuses tonight. Fuel pump was new when I replaced it 7-8 years ago. I don't remember where it was made. Likely bought off RockAuto or LMC Truck.

I cant remember for sure, but chevy changed from a quadrajet carburater to a throttle body injector in 86 or 87. One thing I can tell you for sure, There was no timing belt on any chevys back then, and if it isn't a throttle body, it won't have a pump in the tank. Just saying! It's a throttle body. First year for the throttle body and last year of the squarebody style.

My vote is the fuel pump, i have changed many of them. Made a hole in the bed, I have a bed liner over it so that is not a problem. Could be electric but pump is my first choice wiht what we are given.......jk
