The wife got the Covid. 4 1/2 hours for a drug pusher doctor to tell her to take ibuprofen and ask her if she wanted a script for an inhaler. What a frick'in joke!

Meh, she will be fine. She's not on death's door or anything. I'm peeved about the amount of time it took to see a doctor. We were the only people in the waiting room when we got there, and it took 4 1/2 hours for a "literally" 5-minute conversation with a doctor. Lord only knows how much the hospital is going to jack the insurance for. Probably in the thousands. It's all just such a scam that it pee's me off.

I have never been test and won't. Why play their games? What did getting tested gain you?

Last year my son was sent to the ER by Ambulance….he was in the ER hallway for 7 hours…told them to remove the IV port and left the hospital. Thank god he got a breathing treatment in the ambulance…before he sat in the ER for all that time

Don't go to the ER if you don't want to wait until your turn to be seen. Real emergencies will be seen before people who shouldn't have come to the ER in the first place. Covid people should not be going to the ER unless you are having trouble breathing. So, advise me on the proper treatment for covid?? Ibuprofen and an inhaler is about it unless you can't breathe. Your ignorance of medicine and illness sure shows.

At least you guys have ERs! Our socialized health care is collapsing and ERs are so short staffed they're closeing them on weekends! Feel bad for ya rusty. I wish people who are lobbying for free healthcare for everyone would realize it isn't free and it just doesn't work. What you stated is a perfect example why its a bad idea.

I tested myself And came up positive. I have a runny nose and a bad sore throat but other then that I feel OK. Don't see any reason to go to the ER

I was given paxlovid and it worked great for me ! Call your family dr have him give her a script! My mom , dad , wife , and myself were all given it and recovered in 3-6 days among us Glad it worked for you and your family. There is a contractor we do work for. He was given paxlovid a while back and he was very sick for 21 days, high fever and aches. That was before brandon received his doses. I saw the contractor the other day and now he is having kidney issues! Coincidence I don’t know but! My wife and I were given the option a couple weeks ago of paxlovid or mono colonial antibody which we chose and went well. Thankfully there are choices!

My wife was given a lesser dose of Paxlovid due to kidney function. My auto immune doc said NO to me taking Paxlovid.

Going to the ER over what are mostly likely cold like symptoms seems like a waste of everyone's time--especially the medical providers. You can't make that statement as you have no ideal the person that posted med condition. OR his wife's. PLUS what time of day or the day. If this hits you on the weekend as hard as it did my wife you will go anywhere you can to get started on a prescription. My wife is 62 years old . Been type 1 diabetic for 42 years . 5 shots per day. She has had 3 mini strokes over the years with one that rendered her blind for 1 hr and:15 minutes. So when she woke up SUNDAY morning and couldn't even lift her arms I was concerned. Her Blood sugar was good so not that .Called the family physician and he said take her to ER. ! Now I'M not the original poster but we sit at the ER for 5 hrs. Most of the time was waiting on the meds from their pharmacy.

Tough crowd today. Finister took his wife to the ER because he was concerned. Covid can be wicked stuff, I can't blame him for taking a loved one when most facilities are closed for the weekend. Last week my cardiologist told me to go to the ER because a CAT Scan showed fluid on my heart. I did not feel sick in any way and I probably waited about 4 hours or so in the ER before I was admitted. To make a long story short I was sent to the ER so I would get the proper testing to determine how much fluid was on my heart, my cardiologist told me she sent me there so I would get tested right away and not have to set up an appointment and wait perhaps weeks for the testing.
I got myself a seniors' GPS. Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination, it tells me why I wanted to go there.
