keep in mind there is M-18 and M-18 F.U.E.L
they market the higher dollar FUEL stuff and put the best tech and batteries into the fuel line
so when you see a good price on a non fuel understand it isn't exactly the same it is like their mid grade stuff they don't market or market as much.
the good part is they will all use the same batteries because they have the same mount
the other thing is they often market the ONE-KEY tools which cost a lot more because they blue tooth connect to your phone and you can lock them from use so if you have that guy who likes to steal your tools at the shop it is a dead tool when he tries to use it it also has a gps tracker component it also allows customization of speeds and features on some tools
the ONE key tool will run 70-100 dollars more than the comparable FUEL tool
