What cutters did you buy? Were they made for stainless, or just coax, soft wire cable. There cheap cutters from Menards coax cable.

The best way to sharpen those is to order the Felco C7 cutters. Then dump your old cutters. That worked for me.

You can get cable cutters made specifically for aircraft cable for relatively cheap at Amazon or Harbor Freight
Just happy to be here.

Hit for me also! Good enough for Newt, good enough for me. Cost for Hit brand is about 1/2 of what the Felco C-7 cost.

Felco C-7 for making snares, and hit for out on the line cutting snares off catches. I have made over 800 Wolf Fang cable stakes plus cut about another 600 so far this year Felco C7 is the way to go

You guys paying for HIT or Felco C7s are seriously over-paying. The ones in the link I made cut just as well and have lasted years. I have the felco C7s and yes they work great but there is no need to pay over $20 for a set of cable cutters. They are easier on the hands, smaller, and easier to carry on the line than the bigger C7 style as well. They are great for removing tighly cinched snares as well. That's interesting. I never gave them a second look because of how crude the metal appears. I judged the book by the cover I guess. Must be made of harder steel than what they look like.
