Ok, I just saw something called a Charcuterie Board. One piece board with the wood handle cut into shape on the board. Looks like a fancy cheese serving board . $132.00 for the dang thing !!! AND THEY ARE SELLING LIKE HOT CAKES !!!

Who is buying these simple boards with a fancy name to them? Is there really that much of a market for them ???

Hot item! Looks like a painter's palette to me!

Charcuterie is a fancy word to sell people meat, cheese and cracker platters at inflated prices. I’ve been serving my wife fancy charcuterie platters for years and didn’t even know it!

And yes, charcuterie platters are “hip” or “in” or whatever they say now. People really are spending a bunch of money on them.

they can have more stuff but cheese , cured meats , fruit , chips , mustards , salsas and jams , crackers

wife got some follow along at home class from a fancy food place in Madison on building one last year it came with a box of stuff , for a lot less than it would cost to buy all the stuff it let us try a lot of things that had been of interest to her.

yes it is basically and art form of arranging good foods in an aesthetically pleasing way so tasty art.

I wouldn't buy one from somebody else but I enjoyed trying some things and yes I did learn how to make flowers from little thin slices of sausage , they taste the same.
I am also unlikely to buy much in the way of art especially temporary art.
my wife is more likely to buy art.

No charcuterie board is truly complete without quince paste! Here's what my wife sells at our farmers market from my quince orchard:

Grand dad put up Quince jelly and preserves. That's where dad got his saying about jelly, you can always add enough sugar to make anything good.

I've made quince jelly a few times. It is beautiful stuff, kind of a vibrant pink color. A lot of work making the stuff though.

When Magellan was at sea, he ate a piece of toast every morning with quince preserves on it. The entire crew, except Magellan, developed survey.

I never heard of this Charcuterie Board before my one son who is like late 20's said him and his girl were gonna fix it.So then we had it.Well now I gotta tell ya I learned we been eatin fancy around here and never knew it.On New Years Eve we always have had a tradition thing w/cheese,crackers,sliced meats, olives pickles and such for like 30 years.Who knew of such a thing as Charcuterie.I am right down impressed with myself.Next year I may fancy it up a bit and ad napkins instead of paper towels-nah.

the difference between a Charcuterie Board and a wooden cheese platter is about $100.00
