We have had 2. Had Haddie for 14 years and Malania for 4 weeks. They both have tried my patience but I can not help myself.

Yep when I saw a stray bassit eating one of my chickens. It got a pass though. Most any other would have got a nap.

Our son and daughter in law have had two through the foster program they work with. The 3rd one came a month ago after a couple was divorcing and needs significant surgery on one or both of her front leg and paw joints, which the organization will cover. There are two appointments scheduled and if succseful there will be a lengthy healing time as well. She is 9 months old and is a real honey of a dog but she has the hunting instinct for sure.

A friend of mine in Florida had 6 of them.

I got dogpiled a couple times because I was sitting on the couch near the front window as a car or something interesting went by. Picture 6 fat Bassetts piling on you in a big hurry. Like furry walruses.

Other than that , cool dogs.

Can't help it. I can't see a BHound and think "why haven't you been hit" on the road.

the first dog my kids had was a Beagle Basset mix = a Bagle

he was technically a senior at 10 when we got him from the pound , he wanted to be by his people

you could tell how hot the fire was by how far he laid from the stove and how cold it was outside by how far from or on the bottom step he peed -30 and he didn't get off the bottom step.

the kids dressed him up and he never once ever got eve a growl at them he loved the attention

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

This is my buddy BO. Bloodhound. I can’t seem to get mad at him for much either with those long ears and extra skin.

My buddy has two of them. The only dog that has ever tried to bite me

I see lots of people loving their Basset but they are not for me

Gotta live up to the nickname...

Mine went with me every Saturday morning fir 9 of her 24 years to get the paper and coffee. I say truck she went to truck waiting on a boost into the seat Or car she would go to my wife’s car standing by the door

That was her bed in the corner of the couch ! Would cover up her eyes if I had the overhead light on

I named my oldest son after one I owned that passed from me as an older puppy. Had him while courting my wife. If you young guys want a girl, just get a basset puppy, and hold him everywhere you go, pumping gas, the grocery store, the girls will flock to you. His name was Jubal Early. After I got married, and my wife got pregnant with our oldest son, I brought the name up, and my wife jumped at it... we tell our oldest son he is a reincarnated basset hound. Slow as one too, maybe it's true.
