Let's consider what has happened with gas. Under Trump we added oil to the nation's strategic petroleum reserve when the price of gas was $2.63 (Aug 2018 national average). In Aug 2022 the national average is $4.00, down from $4.68 a month ago because Biden has released oil from the strategic reserve. Effectively, that is the federal government selling us gas for $4.00 that we paid $2.63 to put in the reserve in 2018 and people are claiming we are getting a good deal. I don't like that deal so much.
