what is the Yellow? road paint ?
not sure you would notice the difference between 3000 and 3500 because when you used the wider angle tips you have less restriction so you never hit max psi
max psi with a 0 degree nozzle will just take your factory paint off
if that is yellow paint over spray then buffing compound . if that is what it is you have primer , white paint , clear coat , hopefully a little wax and then the yellow paint.
buffing compound and a buffing is a very fine abrasive that should let you get the yellow off without getting any further than into your clear coat , then you can clear coat over or just use a few applications of a good wax
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

so the paint is yellowing ?
that is likely the clear coat oxidizing
a buff and then coat with a good wax would be where I would start If I did anything
but seriously it's an 01 and you can't put your hand through the cab corners that must be some magical yellowing clear coat to have kept the rust off in WI for 21 years
it is a plow truck not a collector car even if it could have collector plate
just run it and save the money for something else

Using a pressure washer to remove stains on automobile paint is generally not a good idea. To get the proper psi/distance from surface/duration of blast is a very fine line from going too far and removing paint down to the bare metal. Greencountrypete is on the right track here. Compounds and a buffing wheel or by hand is the proper , safe way to do paint correction.
