I'm to ashamed to show my coon and skunk on here now, when I get better at skinning and fleshing. Don’t be. Good put up just takes practice. Post your pics, and you will get helpful tips. I guarantee every one of us has screwed up a good number of pelts learning proper put up. Example, those rats I posted earlier in this thread, look at the noses. I didn’t think to pin the nose in place on the end of that wire stretcher. Lesson learned!

I don’t know for sure. I never have caught enough rats to really know if it hurt anything or not, but I imagine you probably lose a little on size? Guess it would depend on how they’re measured. The most muskrats I’ve ever caught in a season was like 12 and most years I catch zero. I caught those in a stock pond when I lived in Montana, here in Nevada I don’t target them at all, there’s not enough of them to make it worth my time.

Those are some pretty dark marten, mud. Probably not from Maryland tho, eh? Lol nope. I’ve trapped in Vermont a few weeks over the seasons. December Vermont caught fisher are pretty critters. Or you mean the mink?

Boco does beautiful work. I’ve loved that fox pic each time I’ve seen it.
