Foxpaw can you give more detail about the set ? I buried two #3's in the clay fescue field, covered with wax paper and light coat of dirt. Put some Dailey lure in a mouse like dirt hole and some on a stick about 3 ft in the air behind it. Had them tied to a wooden drag and found him after school one evening just at dark. He ran about 1/2 quarter and got hung in a barb wire fence, he was only caught in one trap by a front foot. That was the first coyote I had ever set for. I carried "The Trappers Companion" like a bible, lol. That had to be one dumb coyote, lol.

I had a buddy in Ks that set 2 traps at every cat location. He caught a lot of them too.

So what would these be best suited for? Front foot under the ice beaver. You won't need the stake.
