#3 Blake and lamb jump set up in pairs with a short stake. What is this already set up for? Would you leave it as is or modify for something better?

Someone with some serious clay and wants to ensure whatever investigates the set WILL get caught!

Caught my first coyote in one like that. Got $15 bounty and 5 bucks for the hide.

I buried two #3's in the clay fescue field, covered with wax paper and light coat of dirt. Put some Dailey lure in a mouse like dirt hole and some on a stick about 3 ft in the air behind it. Had them tied to a wooden drag and found him after school one evening just at dark. He ran about 1/2 quarter and got hung in a barb wire fence, he was only caught in one trap by a front foot. That was the first coyote I had ever set for. I carried "The Trappers Companion" like a bible, lol.

That had to be one dumb coyote, lol.

That's some '70's stakes for Fox around here. I have some of them hanging in the shed.

I never cared for them, I liked the angle iron stakes of that time period.

Looks to me to be a sent post setup of. that time period. The go to trap for the G men were 3n's, set in a torn up rectangle about 14" X 2 feet, staked in the middle, and something for a post on top of the stake. Those were a poor choice of trap, but poor people have poor ways! They bedded and sifted in a trap at both ends. I never cared for the set myself, didn't like tearing up an acre of ground to set a trap for a coyote!

I had a buddy in Ks that set 2 traps at every cat location. He caught a lot of them too.

Front foot under the ice beaver. You won't need the stake.
