Reading this post makes me feel old! I graduated from High School in 1963.

I was 10 years after.

The planned "visual image telephone " was supposed to be a benefit to "The Housewife" in the kitchen. LOL

In '62, I belonged to a sportsman club and the club had an old guy raising quail and each year each member received 10 quail to turn loose in their area. At that time our telephone coop was formed and was getting right-of-way easements, etc. to lay lines and was replacing the overhead lines for the old wooden crank phones (which we never had). Part of the general conversation the day my dad took me to get my quail was about the new phones. The old man raising the quail said that some day phones would have pictures on them so you could see who you was talking to. He said that would be a good thing because it would cause the old women to put some clothes on before getting on the phone. I've often thought about that prophecy.
