In FLA, friends of mine owned WEDR, a station that featured a lot of soul music. Being a minority white redhead in big city Miami Beach High, the only white gal on my basketball and track team , I danced with the gals in the hallways to the kings of soul...the Bump dance was popular then
I nevah wore bell pants. I was cowgirl and my Daddy's girl all the way , even through that era.
A wee hint for ya....take hold of the feed dial and speed through it, stopping at places to see how it continues. If It's something ya don't like, well then, you've still learned an overview without mental bandwidth lost
Besides...an overview of new music won't kill you, even if you fast forward through it
If my back wasn’t hurting ….I’d be at the gun range with my smoke pole…but Iam stuck at the house and it sucks
You out bar fightin' again, Nessie?
My bellbottoms had class! That weird little trim on the bottom and I even sewed a little deerskin mushroom on the thigh. Combine those with a blue chambray work shirt and my big afro and I was nuthin' but chick bait!

I got married in 1979 wasn't wearing no bell bottoms. Did wear what was called After Six light blue tuxedo. That was close enough to Saturday night fever look for me.

I know that one, Nessy ! LOL danced to that one too.
I'll tell you something...some of the hottest bass runs I've ever heard has been to soul music .
They had some smokin' musicians then.
BTW- I was making money hand ovah fist airbrushing murals on show vans , classics, hot rods and bike tanks then. The body shop I worked at played WEDR and the soul stuff frequently.
The body paint guys, and myself, rocked to the music as we worked.
I made more money then, than a teen/early twenties gal should have .. paid cash for my Guild guitar to play in the bands, and a brand new Chevy truck.
Got me started off fairly well to save and leave FLA for the north country.
Moosy….no Baah fight this time. I was using one of them gas powered dirt augers last week….and Iam not as young as I once was. My mind thinks go for it ! ….and my body says NO.

The bass in this kicks. A whole orchestra behind them too . Many of these soul bands also had kickin brass sections too. This has a bit of all.
There was a guy who had me do a full Celtic warrior mural on his show van. It was worth the price of a modern day Ram , even back then, before I put my heart into it. Warriors in armor , on war horses, swords drawn, in a dead run, wearing fur capes , the whole thing was full of motion.
He was happy as a clam at high tide with that van , and this song was his theme as he traveled down the road almost across country to car shows.
This tune is a long one, so you can either pull the feed dial or not . I like the instrumentals improvising in their turns .
I still hear this one in my head , from doing that fantastic van , to this day, especially on long drives
