Is a four-year-old bottle gallon of 2 4-D still good to use on poison ivy along a fenceline?

1.5 oz per gallon should do the trick.

The quickest way to take the pop out of any pesticide is if they freeze. A sticker/spreader would be a huge help this time of year. Your rate should always be on the label. Good luck !

I use 1.5oz per gal with 2-4D and 2.5 oz per gallon with roundup. Have had good results. You could probably go a little heavier if your not worried about killing grass but I think 1.5 oz should smoke PI in a few days.

Your herbicide is probably still good unless it ever froze. That can take some of the potency out of it. I killed a patch of poison ivy in my woods a few years back with Round Up. It never came back.

I don't care how nice the hand soap smells, you should never walk out of the restroom sniffing your fingers.

Does poison ivy not have a different 2-4-D in it to be sprayed effectively.
The slow uptake and then spread to the roots or the vine just grows the next year from the root stalk.

I dont understand why anybody uses chemicals to kill plants. It never works permanently and all that is happening is the ground water is getting polluted and the area around the sprayed becomes the same way too. I just do the physical or mechanical removal method and have never had a problem. My grandma also got cancer from the roundup deal. That Urushiol is big money tho

Wasn't Agent Orange a souped-up version of 2-4-D?

This is what I do as well. Pint 2-4D, cup remedy, and 1/2 cup sticker spreader goes into my 25 gallon sprayer on the UTV add water to fill. Kill most any brush, ivy, or woody weed that gets sprayed.

Your right, I beleive they were maketed under 24d ester and 24d amine. Anyway when I was a kid , My Dad would have me holding the sprayer nozzle spraying fencelines with 245-t, I would be soaked by days end.

I bet you killed it with 5 oz/2 gal. Poison ivy is pretty easy to kill as long as you got good coverage. Like everyone else is saying, just keep it from freezing and it will last a long time.
