Thought this was interesting. Someone in Siloam Springs, Arkansas posted this. State, County, and City all tax you on services, even trash collection. Gubmint can never have enough money. And electricity is skyrocketing everywhere.

Govmint produces nothing, so that money has to come from somewhere. Just pay your taxes and be quiet like a good boy.

I would agree, less then $25 out of a $460 payment is tax to provide a whole host services.

Our city here had to break the property taxes down into some as service fees. Other wise all the none profit that don't pay property taxes, churches, schools, hospital. Were getting storm sewer, curb gutter, fire protection and so on for basically free. With home owners picking up the tab. I don't like taxes for the sake of taxes either. But some things have to be a user fee for them to be applied in fair manner. When you live in a city where something like 60% of the property is tax exempt. You learn to appreciate user fee more than taxes.
What I dislike is taxes being spent something other than what they were collected for. Like road tax used for hiking trails instead patching pot holes.

I wonder how many states there are like California for employment tax. If you live there and work out of state you still pay taxes on money earned out of state?
