I’ve been trying to find an indoor wood furnace but due to the 2020 EPA rules they are hard too find. Only one manufacturer that I found that could sell in the US; which was Kuuma. But the price was $8000, I can buy a lot of propane for that price. And the worse part about these 2020 EPA furnaces is they only have about 3 cubic foot firebox and I been told by the time the smoke meets the EPA rule most of the heat is out the flue. Canada manufacturers have furnaces to sell but they are same EPA junk in order to sell in the US.

So I found a dealer in Missouri who just deals with refurbished furnaces. I drove 13 hours to buy a FC 700 that will burn 28” sticks and has 7 cubic foot firebox. The furnace was only used a few months as the original owners developed a wood allergy. He also had a brand new 700 still in the box and at least 3 others he was refurbishing.

If anyone else is trying to find a wood furnace that is in excellent shape it is definitely worth contacting Dennis Mix (Mix Farms LLC). He is located near Amity Missouri. I only talked with him about an hour but I’m sure I could have spent the day there.

I have a Hitzer(7) wood/ coal furnace in basement.
Was my source of heat 30 years ago.
Haven't used it in 20+ years, added a heat pump and 1st floor wood stove in the '90s.

House was built by Amish, so.made sense to them!
A guy I know bought same one, but his daughter was allergic/asthma.

I have one from TSC that says ''Hot Blast'' on it. It's worked for the last 10 years. I cut the back out and put a big fan in it and made vents to work with my forced air furnace.

Just passin through

Try the Amish dealers. A buddy purchased one a few years ago and loves the furnace.

I'd maybe be worried about it raising the cost of homeowners insurance.

Thumbian, I had a Kuuma sauna stove in a sauna I built and sold. That was an amazing technological stove. I would absolutely endorse their products. I completely understand not wanting to spend $8k though.
