Once you're old enough to legally be sent off to die for America, there should be no restrictions on firearms ownership based on age.

It was figured out a couple of centuries ago and conservatives in this Country have always understood. Liberals keep trying (constantly) to ignore the US Constitution and have laws passed that violate it.

No one becomes a safe and responsible gun owner because they reach a certain age .I am in my 60's and have been using a gun since I was about 10 years old. Knowing the safety rules and always making sure you are paying attention to them must be everyone's first priority My generation grew up with guns and hunting .We where either on a farm or had close relatives that where farmers .I have helped several young girls and boys get involved with both small game (mostly pheasant hunting and also deer hunting)I am thankful to say we never had any mishaps .But the thing that I noticed the most was the general lack of gun handing skills that most young kids have today .I think a gun and safe handing of guns should be taught in school By the age of 12 o r 13 every kid should know how to load unload operate the safety .And how deadly they are . One time I was at a public shooting range ,A 20 something male got out of his car and approached me with his gun .And he said I just bought this gun and I do not know how to load it Could you show how to do that I showed him what to do and quickly packed up my gear and left .

I used to practice at a local gun club's handgun range. So did the police from two nearby boroughs. Some of those guys and gals displayed poor marksmanship skills and even worse safe gun handling skills. I practice elsewhere now.

It is simply amazing that it took this long and that it was a law to begin with. I also agree that gun safety should be a required coarse in school and needed to graduate.

A well armed militia(high school students) would know how and have the means to eliminate a dirtbag trying to shoot up a school.
