[quote=Rat_Pack]Nice brown...looking at that fishing pole, you weren't under-gunned for him[/quote
That is an old (formerly) 9 foot "noodle rod" I used to fish steelhead with 40+ years ago. It has had maybe 2 feet broken off the tip since I bought it in the 70's. I like to use that so I can reach in amongst the tag alder bushes and plunk the bait right where I want it! It is very whippy.

Nice trout. That's a pretty big rod for a small stream. You must have known there were big fish in there. Congrads.

Nice trout. That's a pretty big rod for a small stream. You must have known there were big fish in there. Congrads. See my above post. The rod is long (7'ish feet?) and very whippy....not a lot of backbone. I was clueless as to their being a fish that size anywhere near there. It was, in fact, the very first Brown I have ever caught in that small stream. My All Purpose Boy has landed 1 or 2, but they were maybe 10-12 inchers he got several miles downstream.....below a dam that blocks their movement upstream. My usual catch in there are Brookies under a foot long.....just pan sized fish. The way I fish dictates using a longer rod so I can sneak the bait down in among various brush that are along the banks of the tiny creeks I like to frequent. I was weaned on trout fishing these small cedar swamp creeks.

Very nice! Always a treat when you pull a whopper out of skinny water like that.
Just happy to be here.

Nice haul, that is a dandy fish.
I got myself a seniors' GPS. Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination, it tells me why I wanted to go there.

Nice fish! Always a surprise. Maybe otters also have been eating the trout?
That rod is way too big! Just kidding!
Great fishing.

I was thinking of otters too. But that is a pretty colored BIG brown. I guess a few exist in Pa but I have never got a big one like that is our little creeks here and a 12 inch brookie is a monster here too......jk
