For those that ask here's the numbers.
Boat repair (if transom has to be completely replaced)
7,500 transom
200 keel guard
300 bottom repair
100 battery boxes
taxes and color match flake
total
9,000
Engine repair is 19,100 Too many parts to break it down but lower unit was 8,900 of it
Prop 900 bucks

These numbers blew me away until I looked up NADA on boat and the motor
Boat if it still had the OLD 2014 2 cycle books for 43,600 !! I paid 46,000 for it NEW in August of 2013
Paid 18,000 for the engine in June of 2020 It books for 23,400 !!! Merc 4 stroke 250 today is 26,400 if you can find one !!

Dropped off estimates to my insurance co Friday . Adjuster called me this morning and I picked up the check at 2 pm !!! They didn't blink an eye !!!!!
Now the wait begins..

Gotta live up to the nickname...

I just spent more on a pickup than I did to build my house. Yeah, inflation is a problem!

New it was gonna be quite a bit more than you were anticipating. Parts are gonna be back ordered for months. Problem is as hard as you hit that tree, chances are good that Merk ain’t never gonna run right after they “ fix” it. Make sure they got the power trim, and probably the power steering too, included. To bad they didn’t total the boat, and let someone else have the future headaches. If prices on new boats weren’t so crazy right now they probably would of totaled it.
I’ve had a new Sea Ark on order since February and there telling me October delivery now. Probably won’t get it realistically till December, if I’m lucky. Everything is severely backed up.

No parts are waiting on the money . Reason I took it to the dealer 2/1/2 hrs away is he had lower unit in stock . Trim and steering are fine. Motor never died. If fired on first turn over next day. If trim does go out still got 6 years of warranty left. He's got 2 brand new boats and a 2021 sitting there if I want to trade. Offered me 38,500 trade in after he gets motor back together.

Man I thought those boats were expensive back when the most expensive at bass pro was about 36k. I guess like everything else the prices have gone out of sight. It's very nice it's working out for you.

That’s some expensive derby fishing. Rich man’s sport. I thought buying a $10,000.00 snow machine for trapping was something! Oh wait that’s what my wife says along with why would anyone own 4 show machines when you can only ride one…lol

That is a ridiculous amount of money for a fishing boat. But, people buy them or they wouldn't make them.

Friend of mine bought a bass boat couple years ago. It was a year old repo he paid $68,000 for it and another 4k for electronics.
I paid a lot for my North River boat but not a fraction of what he paid

His premium will not be the only premium going up. Insurance is like a casino, the odds are in their favor, if not they change the rules.

Yup. I can't remember the year, '70 something.
One of my brothers had 20 or30.OBs on back his truck.
( We're hoarders by birth)

He gives each of my kids one, " Here you go, take them apart, learn how they work, maybe even fix them. Be useful!"

That was about 10 years ago, lol.
Still have a 10 hp Johnson to mess with, old 2 line fuel line, pressurized tank era.

Then again, I have had, and use, a late '60 Ted Williams 7.5 since around 1980

J your a good sport so I will offer this.

If you would have had your MAGA hat on backwards the bill wouldn’t have flopped down over your eyes going that fast you would have seen the tree!
