I had a friend share some of his recently caught tuna with me. A T-man member John. " guthooked " is his screen name.

I have not had fresh yellow fin tuna before but it was a mighty fine dinner. Add some fresh blanched garden green beans, home made tartar sauce and that made it all come together.

It certainly wasn't like the typical fish meat I am accustomed too.

Lightly seared and ready for the table.

That’s good stuff Bob!

Headed out tomorrow, but focusing on Mahi then flounder and sea bass. Those tuna are fun! Best day we had last year was October 15. Hope they show up again like they did!

John

Just curious what coast? I fished out of San Diego for yellowfin. Too much fun.

I love the smell of burning spruce---I love the sound of a spring time goose---I love the feel of 40 below---from my trapline I will never go!

Nice! One day I’d like to try a Tuna steak like that. So far the only Tuna I’ve had is flaked in a can.

Cold as ice!

Smoked tuna is unbelievable! Another way I cooked my tuna was a chunk over briquette with a foil tent over it and the smoke from the juice smokes it that way. I am drooling just thinking about it!
