State Department of Conservation encourage more hunters Hunters encourage more hunters. Eventually to hunt there will be four options. Hunt government land. Belong to a club. Own land. Quit hunting. Pretty much already is! I hunt in the Ozarks, in the middle of Millions of acres of National Forest land, and I keep getting squeezed out by LARGE gangs of hunters from the bigger city's. They will move in 25-50 strong, with their campers/mobile homes and tents, cutting roads into the forest, (illegal) driving the rigs into the spot, (illegal), and they don't care who they screw over. All that land and they STILL trespass private ground. They will drive their ATV's all over the woods, (illegal) and park the stinking thing right near a guy covered in orange, wave at you, and go off to the spot they picked. But, it's public ground and you can't say anything.

So who y’all mad at? Hunters for offering money? Or landowner for taking it? Not even mad a hint. I just thought it was disrespectful for someone to offer money when someone else has permission. I'm glad my friend is making a few bucks, I told him to do it, he initially told them no and I said to call them back and take it because I know things are tight. I guess if I wanted to lease something and someone else was hunting it ide ask about leasing it next year or something.

He should have told them to up the price that way if they pay they have to pay alot. I try and make sure if I know someone is going to lease land that I talk the land owner in to charging them all they can especially if they are not from here. That way I feel a little better about city folk coming out here.

That's exactly what I told him to do. We will also have 20 dozen decoys across the street in another field, they won't have the day they are expecting...

It's rude of them if they knew you already had permission
You have a few options
1. you could have offered to lease your buddies property and secured it for yrs
2. Lease the property next door and bring all the deer with you
3. Hunt it anyway
4. Don't hunt ever again
5. Find some public land or some free private land

Did the person know YOU had permission? Or just someone else . The fact the owner called you to see if it bothered you take that as a win ! No different than letting someone have your hay to keep the field clean but then some one offers to pay you to cut it ? They be crazy not to take the money...

Somebody is willing to pay to hunt birds ? .....now that's crazy ! Folks lease prepared dove fields here. And pay per gun to shoot doves. Also, have many here that pay for turkey hunting privileges. Quail hunting is big $$$ too.

the reason pay to hunt is a reality is because all you people who make excuses and pay the fees while complaining about it, keep right on paying. quit killing deer for three years and there will be a bounty on them. when you kill deer its the LANDOWNER getting a favor

Folks willing to pay money to hunt private land and private land owners turning away folks because they aren't willing to pay will be the demise of my hunting passion. It's all about greed. It's tough enough to get on private land as it is!
